If your name happens to be Will Robinson, then, like Robbie, the robot, on that now classic TV series, “Lost In Space,” (1965–68) I have an urgent warning for you. It is simply this. Danger, Will Robinson! Danger! Danger!
Watch behind you, Will! There is an ugly, trash-mouthed demon who wants to sneak up on you to destroy your soul with his deadly lie-spear. And, if he catches you off-guard, he will impale you right through the heart with that spear.
Oh no, Will! He is here! Duck! Here comes that lie spear! >>Jesus is a cheap and easy mark >.
Shoo, that was close, Will. But you were quick – and very smart to duck and run for cover. If that psychological spear had struck your heart, your mind would have been fatally poisoned resulting in the agonizing death of your soul.
The truth is, Will, Jesus is not cheap. And, He is certainly not some easy “mark” to be unknowingly bilked out of the vast treasures of His eternal Heaven by pretense and insincerity. In reality, He is never enticed by a feckless declaration of faith involving only the single moment in one’s life it takes to utter it.
But, by your resolute quickness, Will, you have survived to discover the true Jesus, and what He truly requires beyond even a genuine surrender to His Lordship. And, that would be your intimate daily friendship, meticulously chiseled out over of a lifetime of devoted days. The days in which your energies are supplemented by His, until, at the end, your hearts, your values, your truth, and you responses to life have simply become one.
And, in that heart-oneness, Will, there will then be left no doubt – “Jesus is far from cheap! In fact, Will, your “all” is the real price He requires for access to His rich and life-transforming friendship. Nevertheless, even at that price, His companionship is easily worth inestimably more.
And, today, you have lived to pay that very reasonable price – if you choose to do so. But, never let your guard down, Will. These are treacherous times, filled with those deadly psychological weapons and the dark creatures who wield them. Danger! Will Robinson. Danger! Danger!
